Flaming Gorge Recreation Area

The Flaming Recreation Area sits on the Utah/Wyoming border. The recreation area spans out 60 miles north to Green River, but almost all of the activities and the best scenery are in the South part of Utah. Some of the facilities are open year round for skiers and other winter activities, but for the most part, May through September is the main season.

Flaming Gorge Recreation Area is a beautiful place. There are many things to do there such as fishing, hiking, biking or just sitting back and enjoying the views. The recreation park has heavily built lodging. They have cabins and can hold R.V.'s with full hookups. These facilities are not free though it will cost you at least 99 dollars a night.

Aaron Million has proposed to run a pipeline from the lake to Denver. The damn in the recreation area holds more than three million acres of water. The recreations water supply could help greatly with the Eastern slope of the Rocky's.

The Flaming Gorge Recreation Area has a lot to offer. There are places you can stay in this area, as well as places to eat. The recreation area is a nice place to take a family vacation or just to spend the day with the kids. The Flaming Gorge Recreation Area is a very unique place it has a variety of activities to do. It also has a damn that makes the sight awesome, and maybe soon a pipeline to help a whole other state.
